AMSTERDAM tourist problems ! for event-entry, travel and parking ...

IN TURKISH :

.
what cards shall we use ? what cards can we buy ?

EVENT-ENTRY
For cheap entrance in musea there is the MUSEUM-KAART which allows you free entrance in nearly all dutch musea for a period of a year; but this card is only good when tourists want to see a lot a musea and other sites and for a longer period; if you stay just for a couple of days near Amsterdam then there are other possibilities.

. .

The Iam Amsterdam city card with free entrances during 1 2 or more days and free travel in Amsterdam plus the Schiphol-bus, and lots of discounts also on shopping but more thinking of things that young people on a short visite like to do;
there is the Amsterdam Holland Pass for 2 4 or more events, including free travel in Amsterdam only; but one of the free entrances has to be the Rijksmuseum; so this card is better for the elderly culture loving tourists!

Therefore the best best solution for us is a couple of museum cards and some travel cards, which doesnot give us free entrances but gives us free transport in Amsterdam, and also to Schiphol and Kudelstaart (!); you have to order some event-tickets extra and the best is online (as that is the cheapest) for things you want to visite.

OV CHIP KAART
to travel dutch people use an OV (personal) chip card ; a thing tourist dont have and which is expensive to buy when you just use it during 1 holiday.
. .

if a tourist wants to travel like a local (buying separate GVB tickets, or daily cards and other special OV tickets) he can buy an anonimous OV chip card, but there are also other tourist travel tickets that can be used without an OV chip card.

.

The above mentioned Iam Amsterdam but also the Amsterdam Travel card (for 1 2 or more days) or Amsterdam&Region tickets (for 1 day only) can be used without an OV card and also the further option of the P+R tickets have this possibility.

the P+R locations offer tourist that arrive by car the possibility of a cheap parking spot (only 1 euro when you arrive after 10:00) and cheap transport (0,90euro pp) to and from the parking and Amsterdam center. You only have to look out that there is no event happening near your P+R location then you cannot use the parking (which we have om 19-12 at Olympisch Stadion) and it can be full, then you have to travel on and on and on try to find another...
. . .
Therefore the best best solution for us is the Amsterdam&Region daily travel card for 19-12; which doesnot give us free entrances but gives us free transport in Amsterdam, and also to Schiphol and Kudelstaart (!); and trying to find free P+R locations on other days.

But the nicest way of transport in Amsterdam (although some trams also have interesting routes) are (as in other big cities in the world) the hop on and hop off busses and boats! we will use the hop on/off boat on our last day in Amsterdam, then we can travel everywhere where things can be done and seen easily and in a special and relaxing way!

so mix and match and dont forget that the p+r areas cannot always be used !

.
well it took me only 3 month of study but now I have found the ideal solution for us. we will use a little bit of everything, but not the touristic passes, they are far too expensive in the end !
